HBO and WB, the American television channels, have stopped broadcasting in India and other South Indian countries. HBO has stopped broadcasting ahead of the arrival of the HBO Max in India next year.
However, Warner Media’s children’s channel Cartoon Network and Pogo will continue to broadcast in countries including India. HBO is ending a two – decade – long broadcast. Siddharth Jain, South Asian MD, Warner Media, said the decision was “tough”.
Warner Media’s Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore offices will continue to operate as children’s channels continue to broadcast. The operations, sales and marketing divisions of the news channel CNN International will also operate here.
