The US television network HBO has cut ties with Serbian actor and Russian war supporter Miloš Biković and canceled his participation in the third season of the popular series “The White Lotus”.
“We have decided to end our relationship with Miloš Biković and the role will be filled by another actor,” HBO said in a brief statement.
HBO announced last month that the 36-year-old Bikovich will play a role in the third season of “White Lotus”, with this news immediately causing a sharp reaction from Ukrainian social media users.
Biković participated in filming in Russian-occupied Crimea and supported Russia’s war against Ukraine, the Ukrainians said.
Filming of the third season of “White Lotus” will begin in Thailand in February, but it will reach the audience in 2025, according to “Variety” magazine.
Biković was granted Russian citizenship in 2021. Back in 2018, at a ceremony in the Kremlin, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin presented him with the Pushkin Medal – one of Russia’s highest awards in the field of culture.
