HBO and WB cease broadcasting in India

New Delhi: Leading American television channels HBO and WB have stopped broadcasting in India. The channels stopped broadcasting on December 15. In addition to India, Warner Media International has announced that it will stop broadcasting in Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Maldives.

Warner Media International announced last October that HBO would cease broadcasting. Warner Media reported that the channels would not be available after December 15. HBO has stopped broadcasting ahead of the arrival of Warner Media’s streaming platform HBO Max in India. It is reported that the HBO Max Class will arrive in India next year.

Cartoon Network for Children and Pogo are owned by Warner Media International. But these services will continue to be available in India. HBO will cease broadcasting in India two decades later. Audiences have reportedly switched to OTT platforms and the corona crisis is behind the decision.
