“Hazing” will be punished at the Military School of Engineers

The Military Engineering School made changes to its regulations and among the main changes is the establishment of sanctions for students who hold the rank of chief and carry out “hazing” or acts that are considered abuses against other students, including hitting a student, or “actions that denigrate military dignity or threaten the physical integrity” of another.

The above was announced through the Official Gazette of the Federation by the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), and the agreement establishes that “students with the rank of Chief are discharged from the Military Engineering School, at the proposal of the person in charge of the school’s management, to the High Command of the Army and Air Force,” and among these actions is considered anyone who demands “gifts or cooperation, subscribes to collections or carries out any type of profiteering activities, by taking advantage of their seniority, hierarchy or position.”

Anyone who is found “unfit for testing positive for drug use in a toxicology test or refusing to provide blood or urine samples to rule out the use of psychotropic, narcotic or other controlled substances” will be punished with expulsion.

The evaluation criteria for the five majors, six specialties and one master’s degree offered at the school were also expanded.

At the undergraduate level, students can study Military Construction Engineering; Military Industrial Engineering, with specializations in Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering; Military Engineering in Communications and Electronics; and Military Engineering in Computing and Information Technology.

As for the master’s degrees, the following will be taught: Specialty in Cost Engineering; Specialty in Information Technologies; Specialty in Quality Systems; Specialty in Project Management and Evaluation; Specialty in Telematics and Specialty in Automotive Engineering. The Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity and Cyberdefense will also be taught.
