Hazem Imam, captain of Zamalek club, congratulated Al-Ahly after winning the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar.

In the press conference that precedes the confrontation of Zamalek and MC Algiers in the African Champions League, Imam said: “I congratulate Al-Ahly for winning the bronze in the World Cup.”

Imam added, “We do not have time to mourn the loss of the African Champions League final last season. We now have a great opportunity to compensate. We have players and a technical staff at the highest level, and thanks to them, we reached the final of the last tournament.”

Zamalek’s right-hand defender continued: “We were not destined to win the championship last season, but we have great ambition to compete strongly for the championship this season.”

Hazem Imam concluded: “We must beat MCA in our first game in the group, because usually the team that wins matches at home qualifies.”
