Paramore is currently touring Europe as the opening act for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour.
During her final show at London’s Wembley Stadium, Hayley Williams walked out on stage dressed in a white T-shirt and faded blue jeans with a black studded belt around her waist, similar to the ones worn by Freddy Mercury at Live Aid.
The alternative rock trio played during the stop, just as they have done for the last few days of their European tour that ended yesterday. However, a break prompted by Williams had an unexpected surprise.
The singer decided to have a little fun at her final show. As she stepped out onto the catwalk leading to the audience, Williams told the crowd, “I’ve got one minute to try something and I need you to help me.” At that point, Williams then decided to practice Mercury’s signature “Ayo” vocal warm-ups with the audience.
The Paramore frontwoman showed off the range of her voice and ended the performance on a long, high note that captivated the audience. In addition, her two bandmates, Taylor York and Zac Farro, were taking a break on the main stage. Both musicians saw Williams from the audience where they also applauded.
The moment was recorded and shared on the band’s official Instagram account.
“Remembering Freddie at Wembley Stadium,” the caption reads.
Williams’ performance on stage amazed and energized the 67,000 fans, adding a touch of rock history to the audience.
Paramore accompanied Spotify’s most listened to singer throughout the entire European leg of her tour. This phase kicked off on May 9 in Nanterre, France, and they have been traveling with her for almost four months until yesterday.
Marc Martel, the voice of Freddie Mercury in the film “Bohemian Rhapsody”, will return to Chile to honor the legendary British band with the “One Vision of Queen” on March 29, 2025.
