Jansen Panettierethe younger brother of the actress Hayden Panettiere, passed away this weekend at the age of 28, as confirmed by his representative to the site ‘Deadline’. The death occurred in New York City.
According to ‘TMZ’, the authorities went to a house on February 19, around 5:30 pm local time, and it was published that the investigators do not suspect a crime. The cause of death has also not been revealed.
In the past it was revealed that Jansen suffered from anxiety and depression, while his sister Hayden Panettiere had problems with substance abuse.
Born five years after Hayden, Jansen made his way in Hollywood from an early age. His early work included an appearance in an episode of the series ‘Even Stevens’ and voice-over work for the animated series ‘Jacob Two-Two’.
As an actor, Jansen Panettiere worked on various television projects such as ‘Hope & Faith’, ‘Third Watch’, ‘Tiger Cruise’ and ‘Everybody Hates Chris’. He also lent his voice to animated series and movies like ‘Blue’s Clues,’ ‘Robots,’ ‘Ice Age: The Meltdown,’ and ‘The X’s.’
During the 2010s, Jansen made appearances in movies like ‘The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry,’ ‘The Perfect Game,’ ‘8,’ ‘The Forger,’ and ‘The Martial Arts Kid,’ as well as the TV series ‘ The Walking Dead’.

Hayden Panettiere’s younger brother shared other hobbies with his followers on Instagram such as painting. In addition, he showed some aspects of his personal life such as photos with his girlfriend Catherine Michie, as well as his sister.
After his death, Catherine published a heartfelt tribute: “Jansen, I only met you a year ago, but you have been my best friend and my biggest fan.”
“I will never forget the first time I saw your face and the first things you said to me,” Catherine continued in a February 19 post. “Words cannot express the pain of knowing that I will never hear your laugh again. I hope you find peace and I’m so sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me the most.”
Last month, Jansen shared a photo of Hayden Panettiere cutting her hair. Alongside the black-and-white snapshot, Jansen wrote: “Not the first haircut he’s tried to give me.”
So far, representatives for Jansen and Hayden have not commented on the sad news.
