It is sensational news for fans: Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader in the Disney + series “Obi Wan Kenobi”.
When George Lucas made him the adult Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in 2002, only a few knew Hayden Christensen. The then 21-year-old had previously mainly had smaller roles in TV series and TV films, the role in the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy should bring him his big break.
But after “Star Wars” it got pretty quiet around him. Although he initially tried to gain a foothold in Hollywood beyond “Star Wars” with films such as “Jumper” and “Awake”, he did not quite succeed. He withdrew more and more, not making any films for years.

For fans who are particularly looking forward to the “Obi Wan Kenobi” series because Ewan McGregor, one of the “veterans” of the prequel trilogy, is returning, the news at Disney’s Investor Day should now be particularly good: Hayden Christensen returns as Darth Vader in the upcoming Disney + series:
“Obi Wan Kenobi” takes place 10 years after the events of “Revenge of the Sith”
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy described this sensational report on Christensen’s return as Darth Vader at Investor Day as the “rematch of the century”. So it is clear that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader will fight at least one lightsaber duel in the upcoming Disney + series. What more could you ask for as a fan?
It is also confirmed that the plot will start ten years after the events of “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”. The shooting of the Disney + series, for which showrunner Deborah Chow is responsible, is scheduled to start in spring 2021. The broadcast should then 2022 his.
