Hayange. “King of the jungle” suspected of trafficking in protected species

Servals, ouistitis and peregrine falcons

The Hayangeois is, this time, suspected of illegally selling several animals of rare species and protected through these same social networks. On Wednesday, the Thionville public prosecutor said in a tweet that the suspect allegedly sold several servals, ouistitis and peregrine falcons.

“Well-chosen” families

The king of the jungle admitted Thursday, in a Facebook post, to have illegally sold a litter of seven baby servals “to well-chosen families”, and says he is ready to bear the consequences of his actions, but he denies any trafficking or abuse. He will be tried by the Thionville criminal court on July 5. He faces up to six months in prison and a € 9,000 fine.
