Hayange. Grands Bois: a scheduled end

In the early 2000s, Hayange still dreamed of having his professional high school. If it never came, the merger a few years later of the Grands Bois high school with the professional high school of Knutange (which then took the name of high school Gaspard-Monge) gave a glimpse of a bright future in the Fensch valley. . The Region planned to inject € 25 million into the expansion of the Knutange site.

The ace ! In 2013, the starving numbers (140 students) no longer justify such an investment. Worse: the Region announces the merger, at the start of the 2014 school year, of the Gaspard-Monge high school with that of La Briquerie de Thionville. All the students are transferred there. All that remains in the Valley are the boilermaking workshops in Les Grands Bois, which are supposed to move to Knutange a few years later. The project will never see the light of day.
