After almost ten years it is now clear that “Hawaii Five 0” will be discontinued. The last episode will be broadcast in the USA in April. Then the successful series ends after ten seasons and 240 episodes.
Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment, said about the end of “Hawaii Five 0” in a statement. “It’s never easy to say goodbye to a successful format that carries on the legacy of the original with such a distinction and at the same time establishes its own distinctive style.”

The series was a complete success and it couldn’t be more proud of its longevity. With the cancellation of “Hawaii Five 0”, the Germans lose one of their most popular series and the actors lose their characters who accompanied them for over a decade.
Is Alex O’Loughlin the reason for the end of “Hawaii Five 0”?
“Deadline Hollywood” reports that “Hawaii Five-0” star Alex O’Loughlin (43), who has played “Commander Steven ‘Steve’ McGarrett” since the beginning of the series, has decided against a contract extension. Originally, the actor wanted to quit after season 8 due to a serious back injury.

Now he stated in a statement: “This series has defined practically every waking moment of my life for the past decade. Wherever I go in the world, in every language, I am ‘McGarrett’ to all these people. “
But Alex O’Loughlin is very proud of the success of “Hawaii Five 0”: “What we’ve done, what we’ve achieved, is extraordinary. I can hardly express my gratitude in words. I’m just grateful to have been a part of it. I will miss it.”
