For ten years, spectators were able to cheer on the Five-0 special unit on its missions in Hawaii. This year is over, however, because the 10th season of “Hawaii Five-0” will also be the last. Bad audience ratings are not the reason for this, since the series is the American broadcaster CBS still makes a lot of money and is even broadcast in more than 200 countries. Instead, the makers’ decision to end the series has to do with one of the leading actors.

The success of the series should come as a surprise to many, given that “Hawaii Five-0” a remake of the production from the 1960s “Hawaii Five-Zero” acts. Often new editions are not particularly well received, but the work of producers Peter M. Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci was convincing and became a box office hit for the station CBS.
Nevertheless, the series finale in the USA will take place on April 3rd. The creators have come up with something very special: The last episode includes a feature length of a full two hours. SAT1 is broadcasting the 10th season of “Hawaii Five-0” By the way, it might take several months before the broadcaster shows the finale. Alternatively, Prime Video * is also offering several new episodes for an additional charge.

If it were about the audience numbers, would CBS possibly order more seasons of the series. The reason for the cancellation depends instead on the main actor Alex O’Loughlin (Steve McGarrett) together. He has been suffering from severe back problems for several years. Two years ago it was rumored that O’Loughlin was planning to leave the series. According to the magazine Deadline, however, he only decided this year to leave for health reasons.
The creators also thought about the second main character Damage Williams (Scott Caan) to provide a new partner for further seasons. Ultimately, however, they preferred to cancel the entire series.
