Hawaii: Derek Ho’s Last Winter on the North Shore

The disappearance of Derek Ho which occurred this weekend following a heart attack deeply saddened the whole community. World champion in 1993, Pipe Master in 1986 and 1993, Triple Crown winner and 84, 86, 88 and 90, Derek Ho will have truly marked the history of his sport.

Since this weekend of many surfers also have him paid homage and saluted his memory by sharing their anecdotes and memories with “Uncle D”.

At the age of 55 years, Derek would stop at nothing and ride bigger and bigger, with the privilege of being able to pick any wave at Pipeline, his territory. Last winter, the director Joel Barker had the opportunity to film some waves of the Hawaiian! With an inimitable style and full of madness, the brother of Michael offers us a last show on a spot he knew by heart.
