Massacre a Barcelona on the mural dedicated to Raffaella Carrà and made after her death to pay homage to her. In the past few hours, as reported by the Spanish media, the work has been vandalized. In this case, the mural was smeared with writings homophobic (Gay no ‘e’ Vih). Remember that the late presenter was an icon of the LGBTQ world. Reason? It was simply herself, always praising freedom and broad-mindedness. And to think that when asked once why she was raised to a gay icon, she replied: “I will die without knowing it. On my grave I will leave written: ‘Why did gay people like me so much?’ “
Returning to the mural, it is one of the works signed by Salvatore Benintende, street artist of Palermo origins, born in 1980. For years the artist has lived in the capital of the region of Catalonia and is known under the pseudonym of Tvboy. After the death of Raffaella, who passed away on July 5th, Benintende or Tvboy, if you prefer, put his creativity at the service of the memory of the Carrà, creating a mural with a half-purple and half-rainbow background. All accompanied by the caption, written in Spanish, which reads as follows: “A life is a life when you have the freedom”.
For now, the authors of the gesture remain unknown. In the meantime, indignation for the bad episode that happened in Barcelona began to mount on social media. Many have hoped that those who have stained themselves with such vulgarity can be identified and fined heavily.
Raffaella Carrà, popularity in Spain: in Madrid they name a square to pay homage to her
Raffaella, which was very popular in Iberian land, was also celebrated in Madrid. In the Spanish capital, the city council has given the green light to a proposal to even name a square after it. Remaining on the subject of tributes, in Italy her friend Milly Carlucci asked Rai if it was possible to dedicate the Auditorium of the Foro Italico to her. That is to say the building that has seen several successful shows pass by its walls, such as for example Carramba! What a surprise. The Auditorium is also the place from which Dancing with the Stars is broadcast.
