Gargždas “Amber Volley” volleyball players ended the regular season of the Baltic League with two victories and found out their quarter-final opponents.

On Saturday, the Gargžda club defeated Tartu Bigbank (Estonia) team 3-0 (25:11, 25:16, 25:16) on their field. As it turned out later, Amber Volley will play with this team in the quarterfinals.

Emilis Bartkus, Linas Starkutis and Matheus Veloso scored 10 points each for the hosts.

On Sunday, the “Amber Volley” club also defeated the Riga “RTU Robežsardze-Jūrmala” team (Latvia) 3-2 (20:25, 25:23, 23:25, 26:24, 15:6) at home.

This victory allowed the Lithuanian team to rise to the sixth place in the tournament table.

Among the winners, 24 points were scored by M. Veloso, 15 by Artūras Vincėlovičius, 14 by Daumantas Katinas, and 12 by Linas Starkutis.

In 21 games of the regular season, the “Amber Volley” volleyball players won seven and collected 23 points. The first four places were taken by Estonian teams: Selver-TalTech from Tallinn (58 points), Barrus Voru VK (40 points), Tartu Bigbank (39 points) and Parnu VK (29 points).

Amber Volley will play their first quarter-final match against Bigbank on Thursday at 7 p.m. on your pitch. The return match will take place on Sunday at 16:00. Tartu.

The final four of the Baltic Men’s Championship will take place on March 1-2 in Tallinn.

The Kaunian women started with failure in the quarterfinals

The Kaunas “Kauno-VDU” team, which is defending the title of the champion of the Baltic Women’s Volleyball League, started the quarter-final stage with failure.

The fourth place in the regular season was lost to the volleyball players of Tartu “TU-Bigbank” (Estonia) 0-3 (22:25, 16:25, 20:25) in the first match of the quarter-finals.

Gabija Kasperavičiūtė scored 9 points for the Kaunas team, Gvanca Ulumbelašvili and Eglė Makauskaitė scored 7 each.

The second match of the series will be played on February 24 at 18:00. VDU Valdos Adamkaus sports center. If there is a need for a third match, it will take place on February 25 at 12:00 p.m. also in V. Adamkaus SC hall of VDU.
