Cancer, a disease that, although now has better treatments, which increase the possibility of survival, continues to be, in addition to a drama moral and health, a drama economic, as it requires huge resources to treat and manage the condition.
The expenses do not stop, even after having overcome the disease, as it is in the mom’s cancer case.
In this sense, San Juanita Salazar de León expressed himself, president of the civil association Alianza Mujer, Ayúdame a Ayudarte (AMAAAC), who emphasized the cost of prostheses and garments special for patients with breasts amputees.
“Do you know what a woman who has faced breast cancer suffers? Do you know what a breast prosthesis costs? Between 4 thousand and 5 thousand pesos and they have to change it every two years.
“Do you know what a special bra costs for that prosthesis (over a thousand pesos) and because of the weight sometimes it does not even reach a year. Be aware, check yourself, explore yourself, love yourself, take care of yourself!”, Highlighted Salazar de León, about the importance of preventing and / or detecting cancer early.
Timely prevention and detection not only save lives, but also avoid an economic drain that affects the economy and assets of the patient’s families.
