O game “Sonic” was developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis console. The game features an anthropomorphic hedgehog named Sonic on a quest to defeat Dr. Robotnik, a scientist who imprisoned animals in robots. The villain needs to be defeated and Sonic seeks to save his friends.
Gameplay involves collecting rings as a form of health and a simple control scheme with jumping and attacking.
“Donkey Kong Country” is a game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, being part of the “Donkey Kong” franchise created by Shigeru Miyamoto.
The game centers on the duo of Donkey Kong and his nephew, Diddy Kong, on a quest to retrieve a stolen treasure trove of bananas from King K. Rool and his Kremlin followers.
“Donkey Kong Country” is the first “Donkey Kong” game not to be produced or directed by franchise creator Shigeru Miyamoto, despite his involvement in the project.
The game has sold over 9 million copies worldwide, making it the third best-selling NES game, and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.
Now, have you ever imagined these two games together? Well, surely someone did!
A fan on Twitter called @ominecraftera posted a video merging the two classic games, calling this version the “Super Sonic System”. In the video, we can see a stage that he called “Green Passageway”.
Check out the fan video:
After a full week of working, I’ve sorta completed a level for a DKC inspired Sonic fangame! The name’s “Super Sonic System”, and this first planet’s called “Green Passageway”.
First time ever I’ve finished level design btw.#SonicTheHedgehog #gamedev pic.twitter.com/xMrnPOAGmO— The Controller’s (@OMinecraftera) February 19, 2023

We can see that the merge worked perfectly, right? Sonic’s setting and appearance were a highlight much commented on by fans.
Unfortunately, there is no prediction for this version to reach the public, nor is it known if this will happen, but we can wait. Who knows?
And there? Would you play this “Sonic” and “Donkey Kong” crossover? So, be sure to send it to that friend who would love to know and play with you.
