Have players solved the greatest mystery of Pokémon Sword and Shield?

With the arrival of Salarsen Gigamax in Pokémon Sword and Shield, the community believes they have solved one of the biggest mysteries in game lore.

Pokémon has entered its eighth generation since the November 2019 release of the Sword and Shield versions. The latest title in the Nintendo franchise allows players to explore the Galar region, which is strongly inspired by the landscape of the United Kingdom.

However, the history of the game has left many players hungry, especially about the gigantic glyph on the side of a hill in Greenbury. Several months later, the players think they have discovered what it represents.

Could Salarsen Gigamax be the answer to the biggest mystery in the game?-

Has one of the biggest mysteries in the game been solved?

Early in the game, the trainers find themselves facing the Greenbury Mountains. The place is of major importance in the scenario and shelters a gigantic geoglyph engraved in the rock. Shortly after, players learn from Sonya, Professor Magnolia’s assistant, that this place is intimately linked to the history of the Galar region.

Although several theories attest that the engraving is linked to the Black Night, a dark event that has struck Galar, so far, no one has been able to elucidate what it represented.

However, the addition of Salarsen Gigamax on February 6 may provide the answer that players were looking for.

On the Pokémon Reddit, “DanteDameron“posted a photo comparing the Electrik / Poison type pokémon to the Greenbury glyph. If it is very reminiscent of a prehistoric engraving, the pointed tail and oval eyes of Salarsen Gigamax are absolutely identical.

I must admit that the resemblance is disturbing-

In the history of the game, the Dark Night is a terrible event which allowed the pokémon of the Galar region to take Dynamax or Gigamax forms there are more than 3000 years ago. From there to see a Salarsen “gigamaxé” during this storm, there is only one step.

Salarsen is indeed a pokémon who seems to have marked the history of Galar, as evidenced by the two statues near the lighthouse of Skifford.

Salarsen seems to have marked the history of the inhabitants of Skyfford-

Note also that this theory had already surfaced when the games came out when dataminers had discovered in advance the shape of the Gigamax form of this pokémon. The youtuber “TAHK0” also talked about it in one of his videos last December. With the official release of Salarsen Gigamax it would seem that this theory is surfacing again.

If the glyph was not officially designated as being a representation of Salarsen, many fans are now convinced that it is the same pokémon as the 9,000 prove upvotes about it on Reddit.

Anyway, it especially demonstrates the depth of the Pokémon world that is just waiting to be explored and analyzed by the players. It is not impossible that the release of the next two DLCs in the game will bring new mysteries to solve.
