A few days before the Labor Party enters into surveys with the Socialist People’s Party and the Socialist People’s Party, the Labor Party’s national board meets. – We are in good talks, says Støre at the national board meeting.

Just over one week after the election winner, the Labor Party’s national board is gathered in the Oslo Congress Center. The national board meeting started with a live performance of the song “Celebration” and a clapping Støre in the audience before he himself entered the stage to speak.
– We have had a week, we have got some distance and we really see how big this is. You – we got a very good result for the Labor Party in the election, Støre says in the speech.
– I am filled with optimism and a strong sense of responsibility, says the party leader.
He tells the national government that he is ready to unite the parties with the goal of forming a new majority government.
– We have shown, we three parties, that we can govern well together. And then I share with you – we are in good talks with the Center Party and SV.

He points out that the parties will gather to probe together on Thursday – with a view to forming a three-party government, Støre points out.
– We believe it is the best option to deliver on the large mandate we have, and we believe it is the best option to implement the policy we are concerned with. So that is the trail message, says Støre.
– There have been good conversations – such straight-to-goal conversations, where we listen to each other and trust each other. And we move on.
Boasted of turning operation
The Labor Party leader pointed to the party’s turnaround operation before the election, where the Labor Party went from historically low support to gaining 26 percent.
– In this election, we did something that is not obvious. We became by far the largest party in Norway, as we have been for 90 years. Few have managed it, says Støre to the national board.
Støre points out that the party was largest in the three northernmost counties and in the Inland. He believes the turnaround operation is due to systematic work in the party and efforts to reach out to the districts.
– We did as Trygve Bratteli said – we understood the time we live in, and we gave answers that people believed in, says Støre.
