Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government’s efforts to promote electric vehicles have become increasingly serious, including discount incentives for charging cars at home. The amount of the discount rate given reaches 30%.
“When we charge the car … if the house is 30% discounted, PLN is prepared to welcome the increase in electricity consumption in the future,” said PT PLN President Director Zulkifli Zaini in a joint press conference in Jakarta, Friday (26/3). ).
Zulkifli said that in line with the increasing number of electric vehicles in Indonesia, the demand for electricity will increase. “PLN ensures that electricity supply for both the upstream side of the smelter and others until the electric vehicles, transmission and distribution generators will be available,” he said.
PLN has also prepared all means of charging electric vehicles outside the home to support the potential population of electric vehicles in Indonesia.
Previously, PLN promised to provide a stimulus in the form of electricity discounts for electric vehicle owners who recharge their batteries at home.
“We will soon launch Home Charging service products by providing a special stimulus for electric vehicle users. This convenience will certainly encourage more and more people to switch to electric vehicles, so that the ecosystem will grow,” said Director of Commerce and Customer Management Bob Saril in a press release, Saturday. The stimulus issued by PLN this time is in the form of a 30% discount for users of electric motorbikes. The Electricity Tariff Discount incentive is given to electric vehicle users who charge their electric vehicles at home from 22.00-05.00 (7 hours) with a home charging service connected to PLN.
