Have a Luxury Car? Get Ready You Can’t Buy Pertalite BBM!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government will regulate the criteria for those who are entitled to purchase fuel oil (BBM) type RON 90 or Pertalite. Reportedly, one of the criteria that is prohibited from using Pertalite is luxury cars and state-owned vehicles.

This information comes from Member of Commission VII DPR, Mulyanto. “This effort needs to be immediately intensified at the gas station level. In addition to the technical rules, the BPH Migas or the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will immediately issue it,” explained Mulyanto to CNBC Indonesiaquoted on Saturday (28/5/2022).

Meanwhile, the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) submitted a proposed technical guideline and criteria for those entitled to purchase Pertalite which had been submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Director of BBM BPH Migas, Alfon Simanjuntak said his party was waiting for the proposal to be submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He also has not been able to reveal the criteria for receiving Pertalite subsidies in the regulation.

“All proposals have gone up, BPH is waiting. We can’t share it yet,” he told CNBC Indonesia.

“Currently everything is still in the process,” he said.

Previously, Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati said that her party was still working on the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 191 of 2014 concerning the Supply, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of Fuel Oil (BBM) along with technical instructions for purchasing Pertalite.

“It’s true, we are currently processing the revision of Presidential Decree 191/2014, especially those related to consumer users, so that subsidized fuel can be more targeted. Later, technical instructions will be followed,” Erika explained to CNBC IndonesiaTuesday (24/5/2022).

He also promised that when the time came, his party would socialize the rules. Erika added that the rule will likely run in the next 2-3 months.
