Recently on the Space.com site, Paul M Sutter, an astrophysicist from Stony Brook and the Flatiron Institute wrote that asteroids contain very valuable metals, one of which is gold. “Asteroids contain huge amounts of gold including other metals that promise a lifetime of wealth,” wrote Paul M Sutter.
As the Earth contains a lot of valuable metals, asteroids also have the same thing. Paul M Sutter said most of the precious metals on Earth are stored very deep in the bowels of the Earth. This happens because the precious metals on Earth also sink when the Earth is still in a liquid state.

He analyzed that the precious metals that are accessible to society today, which are obtained not too far from the earth, are precisely the precious metals contained in the asteroids that reach Earth.
Gold according to Paul M Sutter is not the only precious metal that has contained in large quantities in asteroids. Other precious metals are nickel and iron. This happens because asteroids are nothing but remnants of almost planets in outer space.
“They (asteroids) contain all of the same mix of elements as their larger planetary cousins,” he wrote.
He gave the example of Asteroid 16 Psyche which contains about 10 billion kilograms of nickel and iron. Both of these metals are needed by various industries that exist today. According to him, the two metals in 16 Psyche can supply industrial needs for several million years.
