Havana International Theater Festival Returns for its 20th Edition

Havana, Nov 2 (EFE).- The Havana International Theater Festival will celebrate its twentieth edition from November 11 to 19 – the first in-person since 2019 – with the participation of five countries, its organizers reported this Thursday.

The event, they detailed, will be dedicated to the late Cuban director and actor Sergio Corrieri and will have a total of 91 performances.

“This 20th edition will turn Havana into a multiple stage” and will host “exhibitions, book and magazine presentations, segments of multiple meetings, theoretical forums and workshops will complement the programming agenda,” as detailed in the official program.

Likewise, they highlighted that the organization of the event involved more work than in other years due to the “current conditions” of Cuba, mired in an aggravated economic crisis for three years.

The countries that will participate are Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, Argentina and France.

Of the seven international productions, three will be family theater and four for adults. In addition to 15 national works from six Cuban provinces.

Among the works that can be seen on the different stages of the Cuban capital is Zoom Dada, by the French company Theater Bascule, at the Teatro Martí and the Colombian While the Sky Hides in El Ciervo Encantado.
