What is sometimes called the “third round of municipal elections” begins to deliver its verdict. The first decisions of the administrative court of Cergy (Val-d’Oise) on electoral appeals filed in the Hauts-de-Seine were made public on Thursday. The administrative judges ruled on the challenges to the results of the municipal elections in Bagneux and Ville-d’Avray, in the wake of the hearings of November 18.
For these two cities, the court considered that there was no reason to cancel the electoral operations of March 15, which had seen the re-election of Marie-Hélène Amiable (PCF) in Bagneux with 60.74% of the votes. and Aline de Marcillac (DVD) with 53.54% of the votes in Ville-d’Avray.
“I was not very worried even if it is never a very pleasant moment”, estimates Marie-Hélène Amiable, mayor of Bagneux since 2004 and whose election was contested for the first time.
Five other municipalities set by Christmas
Several other towns in Hauts-de-Seine are still waiting to hear the administrative court’s decision concerning them. Starting with Asnières-sur-Seine, Neuilly and Boulogne-Billancourt, whose hearings took place last week. But also Issy-les-Moulineaux and Clichy-la-Garenne, scheduled for the coming days. All cities should be fixed before Christmas.
For the municipalities targeted by an appeal but whose voters appointed municipal teams on June 28, during the second round shifted, the administrative court will rule in the second session, in February 2021. These are Colombes, Suresnes, Fontenay-aux-Roses, Rueil-Malmaison and Villeneuve-la-Garenne.
