On the evening of September 29, Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee held the opening ceremony of Ba Ba Ao Dai Festival – Hau Giang 2023. This is one of the events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the province’s founding.
The festival takes place from September 29 to October 1 with activities such as a painting contest using AI technology for primary and secondary school students with the theme “My Hau Giang”; cultural exchange “Ao Ba Ba past and present”; painting exhibition with the theme “Ba Ba shirt past and present”; Ao Ba Ba performance on the river.
Especially the art program with Ba Ba shirts performed by professional and amateur models is woven and sewn from Cau Duc pineapple silk.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Ho Thu Anh, Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee, said that the Ao Ba Ba Festival – Hau Giang 2023 event was held for the first time in Hau Giang province.
This will be the starting meeting point, so that people can have a different view of Hau Giang, know Hau Giang more, and thereby connect together for the cultural, tourism and economic development of the province in the coming time. .
Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee also informed that after nearly 20 years of establishment of the province, Hau Giang has always been united and overcome many difficulties. In 2022, for the first time, the province’s GRDP economic growth rate will reach 13.94%, ranking fourth in the country and first in the Mekong Delta.
In the first 6 months of 2023 alone, the growth rate continues to reach 14.21%, leading the country, the competitiveness index ranks 12/63 provinces and cities, third in the region. The administrative reform index ranked 20th in the country and second in the region.
