The Hollywood actress said a sequel would be “tempting” but impossible given how much the print media has changed since the original film was released in 2006. The main reason is the magazine industry, which has changed. significantly over the past two decades.
“I don’t know if it could happen,” Hathaway said. “I think this movie was shot in another era. Everything has become so digital now. It’s completely different now.”
In 2006, director David Frenkel adapted Lauren Weisberger’s bestseller of the same name for the screen. The comedy-drama “The Devil at Prada Brunches” is the story of Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of an influential fashion magazine (Meryl Streep), the character of which cannot be called pleasant. It’s impossible for her to do what she wants, but both her young assistant Andy (Anne Hathaway) and longtime employee Emily (Emily Blunt) are trying to do it. True, it turns out in the end that the devil is not as black as she thinks, but the road to this revelation is painful.
Immediately after its release, the film was a huge success, garnering praise from both audiences and critics. She has received numerous awards, including an Oscar nomination for Streep in the Lead Actress category.
Although Hathaway believes the cookie is impossible, he finds it interesting what these characters would look like if a sequel to the famous film was actually made: “It’s tempting to think that Andy and Emily have to buy Miranda coffee again. – the boss is somewhere in. Europe and then along the way – in Italy – they pick up Stanley Tucci, who’s in a restaurant. It’s tempting, but I don’t think that’s going to happen, “he added.
Hathaway suggested that the filmmakers could revive “The Devil at Prada Brunch 2” by finding completely different actors. But do viewers want it?
