Ketum Gerindra’s duet discourse Prabowo Subianto with the Governor of Central Java as well as PDIP cadres Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 election emerged after the two of them accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in Kebumen. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized that the candidate for president to be nominated must be from the PDIP.
“Yes, the cooperation offer, of course in the context of a presidential candidate, comes from the PDI Perjuangan,” said Hasto in the Sentul area, Bogor Regency, West Java, as quoted in a written statement, Monday (13/3/2023). Hasto answered the statement by Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Advisory Board, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, who opened up the possibility of pairing Prabowo with Ganjar.
Regarding the determination of the vice presidential candidate, Hasto emphasized that the discussion must be in accordance with the existing political configuration and cooperation between political parties.
“This means that it must be mutually agreed upon by the political parties that are building the cooperation. Considering that the presidential and vice-presidential candidates are carried out by political parties or a coalition of political parties,” said Hasto.
Hasto then brought up the mandate of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri at the party’s 50th anniversary some time ago. He said Megawati had emphasized that the presidential candidate must be a party cadre with the white bull’s symbol.
Hasto emphasized that his party had carried out a systemic regeneration process and assigned party cadres both at the national and regional levels in an ideal perspective.
“The party carries a presidential candidate from internal party cadres, that is what the PDI Perjuangan is fighting for,” he explained.
Previously, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, responded to the question of the Prabowo and the duet discourse reward in the 2024 election. Hashim said that it is impossible for Prabowo to become a vice presidential candidate if he is in a duet with Ganjar.
“I think it’s impossible for Pak Prabowo to be the vice presidential candidate. Pak Prabowo is much more senior, 15 years older, has a different experience,” Hashim said after the Prabowo Mania Declaration event 08 at the Joeang Building, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday (12/3 ).
Hashim called Gerindra open if reward paired with Prabowo. However, he said, Prabowo became a presidential candidate.
“I think if Pak Ganjar wants to join, if he wants to be paired with Pak Prabowo, I think we are open, Pak Prabowo is open (Ganjar) as a candidate for vice president,” he said.
The Matchmaker 2024 provisional result rankings change dynamically. Last week, the duet Prabowo Subianto & Ganjar Pranowo was in 4th place with 122 votes. Now, the pair’s vote acquisition has jumped to 1,642 votes.
The number of detikers who voted for their favorite presidential-vice presidential pair in The Matchmaker has also increased. Until the third week, there were 4,034 seconds who took part in voting on The Matchmaker.
