This year’s award ceremony was hosted by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Already during the opening monologue, he joked about last year’s dramatic incident – when actor and rapper Will Smith gave Oscar host and comedian Chris Rock an earful after a joke about the former’s wife.
– Most of all, we want me to be safe. If someone in the audience commits an act of violence during this ceremony, you will be awarded the Oscar for Best Actor and be allowed to give a 19-minute speech, Kimmel joked before continuing:
– But seriously, we have a crisis team in place. If something unpredictable or horrible happens during the show, just do what you guys did last year. Nothing. Sit here and do absolutely nothing. Maybe give the attacker a hug.
– I am not a victim
Jacob Heinel, royal reporter for the Danish newspaper BT, has taken a break from Queen Margrethe to cover this year’s Oscars. He knew that the organizers had to take action before this year’s awards.
– Among other things, they have increased security around the stage, he says – and also claims that the organizers have hired “crisis psychologists behind the scenes”.
“Naughty”
This year’s Oscar ceremony has so far gone quietly. There are still certain things that are noticed by the audience sitting at home on the sofa, including perhaps the biggest hat of the year.
The Oscar-nominated artist Tems is sitting in the hall – wearing a white hat that apparently blocks all view of the stage for those sitting behind her, according to New York Post.
Tems is nominated for best original song, with the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” song “Lift Me Up”.
“Imagine you’ve waited your whole life to be at the Oscars, then you end up behind a cloud of fog,” writes one user on Twitter.
“I’d like to think the people behind the white veil don’t get to see the show,” writes another, while a third adds:
“Who is forced to sit behind the woman with the white veil?? Rude”.
Wrecked after drama: – Disaster
These won prizes during this year’s awards:

Norwegian film nominated – did not win
The Norwegian film “Nattrikken” was nominated in the short film class. That category went to the film “An Irish Goodbye”. But before the awards, Director Eirik Tveiten said that he was very happy about the recognition that an Oscar nomination entails.
– We have gone all the way with this film up to an Oscar nomination. That in itself is a huge victory of which we are very proud. Then we’d rather aim for an Oscar statuette on the next project, write producer Gaute Lid Larssen and director Eirik Tveiten in an SMS to NTB.
Norwegian Sigrid Husjord has arrived at the Oscars, which start on the night of Monday Norwegian time.
Husjord plays in the Norwegian film “Nattrikken”.
On arrival, she met, among others, the American actress and singer Sofia Carson, who, together with Dionne Warren, is nominated in the class for original song with “Applause” from the film “Tell it like a Woman”
