Haslacherin opened her second La Schachtula store in Vienna

HASLACH / VIENNA. Born in Haslach, Ulrike Eckerstorfer has made a name for herself in Vienna with her label “La Schachtula”. With textile products for the kitchen, bathroom and children’s room, mostly made by the long-term unemployed, she focuses on sustainability and has now even opened a second shop.

“Last year I was particularly brave – or insane or stupid, I don’t know exactly – and opened a new business in the heart of Vienna,” she says, demonstrating the typical Mühlviertel entrepreneurial spirit, not tossing her head in the sand right now but rather to stimulate the domestic economy.

In addition to the shop on Kettenbrückengasse, it has also been represented in Vienna’s 1st district at Weihburggasse 3 since autumn. There, customers can find individual gifts that are processed exclusively in domestic production facilities, such as those of Wiener Volkshilfe, and come from Austrian companies. Baby blankets, stuffed animals or, of course, mouth and nose protection, also made from Mühlviertel fabrics, are part of the large range.

Everything available online

But what use is that to the inclined customer in the Rohrbach district when Vienna is so far away? La Schachtula can of course also help the Easter Bunny via the online shop. With her original, handmade products made from Austrian natural materials, Ulrike Eckerstorfer meets the ravages of time. More info: www.laschachtula.at
