Discourse about the general chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo sticking out after President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited the two of them to take pictures while observing the main harvest in Kebumen Regency. Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Advisory Board, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, said that it was impossible for Prabowo to become a vice presidential candidate if he had a duet with rewards.
“I think it’s impossible for Pak Prabowo to be the vice presidential candidate. Pak Prabowo is much more senior, 15 years older, has a different experience,” Hashim said after the Prabowo Mania Declaration event 08 at the Joeang Building, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday (12/3 /2023).
Hashim said that Gerindra would be open if Ganjar was paired with Prabowo. However, he said, Prabowo became a presidential candidate.
“I think if Pak Ganjar wants to join, if he wants to be paired with Pak Prabowo, I think we are open, Pak Prabowo is open (Ganjar) as a vice presidential candidate,” he said.
Previously, political expert Khoirul Umam delivered a duet Prabowo and Ganjar Pranowo have a pretty big chance of winning in 2024. He said Gerindra and PDIP were top political parties and both had competitive electability.
“Prabowo-Ganjar or Ganjar-Prabowo bring a big enough chance of victory. This is because the pair isback up by two top political parties and also the electability basis of the two figures which is quite competitive,” said Umam when contacted, Thursday (9/3/2023).
However, Umam assesses that this opportunity must also consider the opponent of the duet in the 2024 election. According to him, until now there is no presidential candidate who has dominant electability for the 2024 election.
“There are no figures who have dominant electability in the upcoming presidential election, making the configuration of the presidential-vice presidential pair important to weigh and simulate their winning potential. This means that the Prabowo-Ganjar or Ganjar-Prabowo scheme also needs to consider how competitive the political opponents they will face,” he said .
In addition, political observer Adi Prayitno said that this intimate moment was predicted as a political signal for Jokowi.
“The meeting between Ganjar, Pranowo and Jokowi today is related to their duet, Ganjar the presidential candidate and Prabowo as vice president. This will happen if Prabowo and Ganjar think Jokowi is the king maker who can determine the direction of the coalition in the government camp,” Adi said in a written statement, Thursday (9/3/2023).
According to him, this signal of support will be carried out if Ganjar and Prabowo consider Jokowi to be the king maker. However, he explained that the obstacles were on Prabowo’s side.
