There has been no official announcement from Hezbollah on the fate of Hassan Nasrallah’s potential successor, Hashem Safieddin, whom Israel claims it killed in a “surgical” airstrike, but Arab media reports say he is dead.
According to a high-ranking official of the organization, the site of the attack has not yet been investigated.
Reuters, for its part, reports that rescue teams have been unable to search the site of the Israeli attack that reportedly targeted the man widely seen as a possible new leader of Hezbollah, according to a Reuters news agency report.
Yesterday, US media reported that the IDF had targeted Hashem Safieddin on Thursday night. Some analysts say he was the most likely candidate to replace Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in a separate Israeli strike last week.
Continued airstrikes in Beirut after the reported attack targeting Safyeddin have made the site inaccessible, Reuters reported, citing unnamed Lebanese security sources.
Hezbollah has not commented on the fate of its top official.
Al Arabiya: Safieddin is dead
According to Al-Arabiya and Arab media, the replacement of Nasrallah in the leadership of Hezbollah, Hashem Safieddin, who was killed in an Israeli attack in the Dahiya suburb of Beirut, yesterday Friday, is dead.

Safieddin was “eliminated,” according to the same sources, along with his Iranian aides and Hezbollah replacement field commanders. The devastation at the scene of the attack is unprecedented.
More specifically, the Al-Arabiya network, citing top Hezbollah sources, reports that since the attack yesterday, Friday, in the southern suburb of Beirut, Dahiya, until today, the man who took over the reins of Hezbollah after the strike against Nasrallah he has not shown any signs of life.
