The police have also been sent photos and video showing the drama when a man was shot and killed at City Hall in Oslo on Monday afternoon. The accused 41-year-old is connected to the action.

At 17.44 on Monday afternoon, the police were notified of a shooting in Tordenskiolds gate near the City Hall in central Oslo. Just minutes later, a 41-year-old man was arrested.

– There were several who called the police, including the accused. Information that reached the police led to a quick arrest, says Grete Lien Metlid, head of the Joint Unit for Intelligence and Investigation (FEE) in the Oslo police district, to VG.

The man is charged with murder after eA 39-year-old man died as a result of the shooting. He will be questioned by police on Tuesday morning.

– Now it is important for us to interrogate him and hear what he has to say, Metlid says to VG.

The man’s defender Mette Yvonne Larsen confirms to VG that her client will be questioned on Tuesday morning.

To NTB, the man’s defender Mette Yvonne Larsen says that the accused is connected to the action.

– He will explain to the police about what happened. His state of health is fair, but he will hopefully be presented to the police doctor during the day, Larsen says to VG.

A black Saab with bullet holes in the window was left in Tordenskiolds gate after the shooting. Witnesses have told VG that the weapon of the perpetrator tickled, and it appears that he was trying to fire several shots at the deceased.

VG is informed that another man, the car owner, was also present, but that he only witnessed the shooting. He has so far not been charged in the case.

– It has been a scary experience for those who have been there. Police have spoken to many at the scene. Several have been questioned afterwards and we will continue to do so today. It is still desirable for the police that people who have been on the scene and seen something report, says Metlid.

After the shooting, the police received video and photos from the public.

– We are very pleased with that. We have a picture and video material that we will now go through, says Metlid.

– Do you have a video of the actual murder?

– We have video that shows key parts of the event.

According to Metlid, the deceased man and the accused have a long-term relationship.

– They have known each other for a long time, but we do not yet know exactly what has been the reason for the incident, Metlid says.

As VG has previously written the man charged with murder and the deceased in the autumn of 2018 were convicted of having committed a number of serious thefts in the Oslo area. The man now charged with murder was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for 19 aggravated thefts. The deceased was sentenced to one year and four months in prison for ten thefts.
