AGDER / LYNGDAL: – Our hypothesis is that the man has fallen into the water, says Knut Odde, operations manager at Agder police district, to Fædrelandsvennen.
On Thursday morning, the Agder police district informs that a search has begun for a missing man in his 60s in Lyngdal.
The man was reported missing on February 22.
Observed in the marina
It was the missing person’s family who reported him missing.
Odde says that the last observation of the missing person was in Agnefest boat harbor on 17 February. Surveillance camera captured the man.
– He was last seen in his own boat at the pier, Odde states.
The boat is now moored at the pier.
Sonar and divers
On Thursday, crews will search for the missing person in the innermost part of Rosfjorden.
– Agnefest boat harbor is the starting point for the search. Divers and sonar must be used. Crews from the Red Cross will conduct surface searches and beach searches in the area in question, Odde explains.
– So you are looking for a presumed deceased?
– Yes, it is in the cards, in that we search in and under water. The man’s family agrees with this, says Odde, who encourages the public to call the police if they have made observations related to the case that may be of interest.
The case is being updated.
