Kasper Schmeichel, goalkeeper of the Danes, was asked at the press conference in preparation for the match about that slogan and how his team wants to prevent football ‘coming home’. He reacts boldly.
The Leicester City goalkeeper asks the journalists with a grin whether football ‘has ever been home’. In response to their reaction that the 1966 World Cup was won by England, Schmeichel would like to emphasize that it was not about a European Championship. The Danes did win the European Championship in 1992.
