Recently, there have been rumors that Putin’s preferred method of transport has changed from plane to train. According to a survey by the Russian independent media Proektisn’t that nice.
They claim that a network of railway lines has been secretly built between three of Putin’s properties. The project links the railway to at least three of the president’s residences.
Visited the railway station
The railway will run between Putin’s residences in Valdai, Sochi and Novo-Ogaryovo.
– The railway goes to all the primary residences of Vladimir Putin, and secret stations are built near them, writes Proekt on his official Telegram channel.
– Losing influence in the Kremlin
According to them, the information is supported by messages from the Dossier Center on 13 February, that the president has started using armored trains instead of planes.
One of the journalists behind the project is said to have sought out a guarded railway station near the village of Dolgiye Borody in the Valdaj National Park in autumn 2022, which is the closest settlement to Putin’s Valdaj residence.
– Driven away by guard
There should also have been a helipad adjacent to the station.
– Three local residents told the journalist that the station and a special railway line were built for the head of state, and the journalist was driven away by a guard when he tried to approach the fence of the station, they write further.
According to Proekt, this railway was in a terrible state in the past. In connection with the fact that it was to be rebuilt for the president, parts of the railway were repaired.
– They repaired part of the existing rails that Putin’s train was supposed to pass, but not the parts he didn’t need. An engineer who worked on the railway told the journalist that he had seen Putin’s special train more than once. According to satellite images, the station and railway for Putin in Valdaj were built in 2019.
– Hits Putin very personally
Bought up land
In Novo-Ogaryovo in the Moscow region, a station appeared 400 meters from Putin’s residence in 2015, Proekt claims.
– The area on which the station is located was transferred from private ownership to the authorities following a decision by then Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The station itself is designed for a low number of carriages and is hidden behind a high fence, where surveillance cameras are installed every ten metres, writes Proekt.
In 2017, a new railway station is said to have appeared at Putin’s residence in Sochi. This must be hidden from the regular trains that pass through the region.
According to the Russian media, train spotters and railway workers are said to have observed Putin’s special train several times. The mentioned trains should belong to a company linked to the president’s friend Yuri Kovalchuk.
