Film producer Harvey Weinstein is appealing his 23-year prison sentence. According to his lawyers, Weinstein has not received a fair trial and has been convicted by a partisan jury.
“The problems of the trial reveal that Mr. Weinstein has not been fairly convicted,” a spokesman for the fallen Hollywood magnate said in a statement, according to American media.
69-year-old Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual abuse more than a year ago.
The 160-page appeal states, among other things, that a number of women had “irrefutably” agreed to have sex with him.
