Ever considered the idea that everything around you was created by aliens in a laboratory?
Theoretical physicist and former chair of Harvard’s astronomy department, Abraham ‘Avi’ Loeb, has advanced the wild theory that our universe was deliberately created by a more advanced class of life forms.

In an opinion column for Scientific American, “Was Our Universe Created in a Laboratory?”, Loeb suggested that aliens could create ‘baby universes’ using ‘quantum tunnels’, which would explain the ‘flat geometry’ of our universe with a net of zero energy.
If this discovery proves to be true, then the universe in which humans live would look “like a biological system that maintains the longevity of its genetic material through generations,” Loeb wrote.
Loeb put forward the notion of an advanced civilization scale (A, B, etc.) and, due to the fact that on Earth today we do not have the ability to reproduce the astrophysical conditions that led to our existence, “we are a low-level technological civilization, judging class C on a cosmic scale. ” (basically: stupid).
We would be taller, he added, if we had the ability to recreate habitable conditions on our planet when the sun was about to die. But, because of our tendency to “recklessly destroy natural habitats” on Earth through climate change, we should really be relegated to class D.
In another blow to our self-esteem, Loeb wrote that “the possibility that our civilization was not very intelligent should not surprise us”.
The “stubborn reality”, he says, is that although humanity has made strides like the discovery of the 2012 Higgs boson, our intelligence may statistically be at the center of intelligent life forms in the cosmos.
We must “look humbly” for “the smarter kids on our cosmic block” through new telescopes, as Project Galileo did, he said, “otherwise our ego journeys may not end well, similar to the experience of dinosaurs, who dominated Earth, until an object from outer space tainted their illusions.”
What is very interesting about this theory, launch Dazed, Friday (10/22/2021), is that this theory can unite the religious idea of a creator with the secular notion of quantum gravity.
