Harvard President Claudine Gay Resigns Amid Plagiarism Allegations: Latest News & Updates

Harvard President Claudine Gay announced her resignation today amid allegations of plagiarism in her academic work. The New York Times reports this.

She became the second Ivy League leader to lose her job in recent weeks amid a plagiarism scandal amplified by Gay’s statements at recent congressional hearings about anti-Semitism on campus. She could not answer whether calls for the genocide of Jews violate the code of conduct of the university she heads. After this, a massive outflow of university sponsors began.

Member of the House of Representatives Elise Stefanykwho interviewed Claudine Gay closely during the Dec. 5 hearing, called her resignation “long overdue.”

“Our robust Congressional investigation will continue to move forward to expose the rot in our most ‘prestigious’ institutions of higher education and ensure accountability to the American people,” she wrote on her social media account.

As reported EADailyPresident of Harvard University Claudine Gay, convicted of plagiarism, still holds a high position, wrote the telegram channel “Bild in Russian” with reference to the American media.

Gay’s tenure as Harvard president “creates the impression that the progressive university has a double standard when it comes to black women,” the New York Times noted.

“It cannot be that students are expelled from a university because of plagiarism, but the president of the university is allowed to continue to work as before,” noted a professor of linguistics at Columbia University John McWhorter in the NYT column.
