Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto made an honorary citizen of the Marine Corps. Prabowo was touched and proud of this honor.
“I accept this honor that you are carrying with great emotion, pride and responsibility. Jalesu Bhumyamca Jayamahe!” say Prabowo via his Twitter account, Wednesday (15/2/2023).
Prabowo thanked him for being made an honorary member of the Marine Corps. According to him, the Navy unit (AL) has had a brilliant record so far.
“Thank you for pinning me an honorary citizen of the Marine Corps. The Purple Beret Corps has a glorious record in the history of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
The general chairman of the Gerindra Party said the Marine Corps was previously known as KKO. The corps soldiers, he continued, were always assigned to the toughest battlefields.
“The Marine Corps, formerly known as KKO, has always appeared on the toughest battlefields, and has always succeeded with extraordinary achievements,” said Prabowo.
“In my life’s journey, in my service, I see that the Marine Corps is a very disciplined force, and always enthusiastic,” he added.
Because of that, Prabowo was also proud to have the honor of wearing the Marine Corps striped uniform. That, he said, made his spirits soar again.
“The first time I had the honor to use this camouflage, my enthusiasm was up again, like getting new energy to continue to strive to provide the best for our troops at the forefront,” said Prabowo.
For your information, Prabowo was appointed as an honorary citizen of the Marine Corps during a visit to Marine Knights Soetedi Senapur Karang Pilang Surabaya on Tuesday (14/2) yesterday.
The award as an honorary citizen of the Marine Corps was marked by the pinning of a purple beret and the pinning of an honorary anti-terror brevet from the Sea Aspect and brevet for Marine Corps Amphibious Reconnaissance by the Commander of the Marine Corps (Dankormar) Major General Widodo Dwi Purwanto.
