Hartberg, BW Linz and Admira finalised last-minute transfers » abseits.at

The summer transfer period is already in most countries finished and nevertheless there is continue to have one or the other interesting transfers on the national and international football stage. We summarize the latest transfers – as always in compact packages of four!

Bjorn Hardley

IV, 21, NED | FC Utrecht – > TSV Hartberg

Dutch defender Björn Hardley played for Manchester United’s youth team for four years. The 21-year-old will spend the next two years in Hartberg. The central defender moved from NAC Breda’s youth team to Manchester at the age of 16, played there in the U18 and U23 teams before moving to Utrecht last summer, where he made 19 appearances for the second team but was never in the first team squad. The captain of Utrecht’s second team is now moving to Hartberg, where he is the second new signing for the center of defense after Mateo Karamatic. Hartberg had previously sold Michael Steinwender and Manfred Gollner, pushed Thomas Rotter into the second team and were also unable to extend Ibane Bowat’s loan.

Silvan Wallner

IV/RV, 22, AUT/SUI | FC Zurich – > FC Blau-Weiß Linz

The Swiss-Austrian dual citizen Silvan Wallner is leaving FC Zurich and moving to Blau-Weiß Linz. The flexible 22-year-old, who can be used as a center-back and right-back and most recently played as a left-back in Zurich, signed a two-year contract in Linz with an option for a further year. With Wallner, Blau-Weiß Linz not only got a flexible defensive player, but also a very experienced one. The 185cm tall defender made 51 competitive appearances for Zurich, also played 30 times for the U21 team and scored four goals and two assists in 38 games for his loan club Wil. Wallner is also a current U21 international for Switzerland.

Matthew Anderson

LV, 20, SCO | Celtic FC – > Admira Wacker

Shortly before the end of the transfer window, Admira once again took advantage of its cooperation with Scottish champions Celtic: Admira brought in left-back Matthew Anderson on loan for a second time, after the now 20-year-old played for the southern city club last season, contributing one goal and six assists in 22 games. After being back in Glasgow for two months, Anderson is returning to the second division club. Admira had previously sold a left-back, David Puczka, to Juventus.

Ben Summers

OM, 20, SCO | Celtic FC – > Admira Wacker

Ben Summers is another Celtic loan player who is not yet a household name in this country. The 20-year-old is an attacking midfielder who has already played five times for Scotland’s U21 national team and also played two games for Celtic’s first team. In 27 games for the Scots’ second team, he scored five goals and provided three assists. Summers, in turn, is expected to boost creativity in Admira’s attacking game and provide more width in the number ten position.
