With the 2-1 home win over Blau-Weiß Linz, TSV Hartberg is not only currently in the top six of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, but also has four wins from the last five games. Things have been going smoothly since trainer Manfred Schmid was appointed.
“It’s fun to watch the team kicking. It’s nice how things are going at the moment,” said Schmid about the run in a “Sky” interview. Since the 53-year-old took over the helm in Styria, only the game against Rapid (1:2) has been lost and the other four have been won.
Nevertheless, he sees room for improvement. Specifically in game structure and defensive behavior. But: “The boys showed today that they can also run and fight.”
Quality for the top six?
Patrik Mijic is probably one of the reasons for Hartberg’s soaring heights. The Croatian, who was brought in as a replacement for Maximilian Entrup in the summer, scored his fifth Bundesliga goal of the season with the 2-0 win: “I’m happy with my goals, but happier that I can help my team with them. I I hope I continue to score like this for a very long time.”
After the win against Blau-Weiß, TSV is at least temporarily in the top six. According to Mijic, the team should stay there: “I think that we have the quality to end the season in the top six. But the most important thing is that we play good football – and that’s what we do.”
Manuel Pfeifer, Mijic’s assist in the 2-0 win, also enjoys the flow: “Of course, four wins from five games are great for Hartberg. It can continue like this.”
Preferably on Tuesday in the ÖFB Cup against Lustenau.
