Heart of the Netherlands will also have a morning edition on January 4, 2021. The presentation will be provided by Mart Grol on working days and by Nadya Sewradj and Wolter Klok at the weekend, SBS reports Thursday.
In the morning, a ten-minute bulletin will be broadcast, starting at 6:30 am and will be updated until 10:00 am. On weekends the broadcasts start at 07:00.
Editor-in-chief Marc Veeningen says that a morning edition of the news program contributes to Heart of the Netherlands create a cross-media brand. The news in the SBS program can be followed online as well as on television.
“In terms of content, the news in the Netherlands is also central in the morning, but if something happens abroad that affects the Dutch, we will also bring it,” says Veeningen. “In this way, the viewer is updated in ten minutes about all the news that is relevant to the Netherlands.”
Heart of the Netherlands exists since 1995. It is the first time in the history of the program that a morning edition is being made.
Forced goodbye for presenters due to reforms
A year ago, a commotion arose around the presentation team, when presenters Selma van Dijk and Gallyon van Vessem were forced to say goodbye. SBS confirmed that the pair’s departure is part of reforms to the news program.
Van Vessem and Milika Peterzon started together in 1995 as the first presenters at Heart of the Netherlands. In 1997 Van Vessem left SBS6 temporarily, but she returned in 2004 Heart of the Netherlands to present again.
In January the new presentation team was announced, of which Klok and Sewradj are also part. Maarten Steendam and Siham Raijoul are also regular faces of the program.
