Harsh Goenka shares New York photo drawn by autistic artist, Twitter is fascinated

Businessman Harsh Goenka’s Twitter is a mix of anecdotes from the RPG president’s life, interesting information, or even viral videos he meets. But Mr Goenka recently spoke about an autistic artist from the UK named Stephen Wiltshire, who drew an 18-foot-long photo of the New York City skyline which he drew after seeing the whole view. Aerial of the city for 20 minutes in a helicopter. The painting was drawn at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in New York. The photo, which Goenka shared, showed the finer details of several important buildings in Manhattan.

Following Goenka’s tweet, one user provided more information on this:

The long sketch also included iconic Manhattan buildings like the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The Daily Mail had reported that Wiltshire drew the entire sketch with pen and paper and that the skyline details had impressed anyone who admired the sketch.

Wiltshire has received several artistic accolades for his talents and is particularly known for his ability to have something similar to a “photogenic memory” as he is known to be able to draw a scene after watching it just once. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of three and did not speak until he was five.

In 2006, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his work in the art world.

Twitter users were impressed with Wiltshire’s craft. Check out some of the reviews:
