Styles, a former member of the group “One Direction”, who has built a brilliant solo career, received the “BRIT” award both as the best pop / R&B artist and as the best artist of the year. Her “As It Was” was recognized as the best song of the year. Styles also won the most important category “Album of the Year” with “Harry’s House”.

Important awards were also received by the “indie” rock group “Wet Leg”, which won the “Best Group” and “Best New Artist” categories.

A week earlier, Beyoncé, who achieved a record at the Grammy Awards of the American Recording Academy, was also awarded in Great Britain. The pop diva, who will go on a world tour this year, received awards in the international categories – “Best Foreign Artist” and “Best Foreign Song” for “Break My Soul” at the “BRIT Awards” ceremony. The artist herself did not come to receive the awards, but said her words of thanks through a video recording.

The Irish “Fontaines DC” won in the “Best foreign group” category. The band is currently on tour in Australia, but guitarist Carlos O’Donnell, who is temporarily absent from Fontaines DC concerts, could attend the ceremony due to family circumstances.

In the category “Best alternative rock artist” the group “The 1975” won, in the category of dance music Becky Hill took the laurels, while in hip-hop – rapper Aitch.

A special title – “Producer of the Year” – was awarded to DJ and electronic music artist David Guetta, who was presented with the award by Norman Cook, aka “Fatboy Slim”.

At the ceremony, which took place at the “O2” arena in London, both “Wet Leg”, rapper Stormzy, singer Lizzo and Sam Smith, who is expected at the “Positivus” festival this summer, took the stage. At the end of the ceremony, both Harry Styles and David Guetta entertained the visitors.
