Harry Styles will perform tonight in a sold-out Ziggo Dome. The 28-year-old Briton is one of the most popular artists of the moment. His mostly young fans have been waiting in Amsterdam in some cases since last night for the moment they can enter. The entrance doors opened at 6.30 pm.

The fact that the singer is popular in our country is also apparent from the many people who are still looking for tickets. Almost 30,000 people searched or searched for tickets on ticket exchange website Ticketswap, and tickets are also requested on Twitter and at the Ziggo Dome. Fans, however, don’t seem to feel much for giving up their tickets. About 3000 tickets were offered and sold on Ticketswap until 6.30 pm.

“I think we could have filled the Arena with all the fans who go to this concert and want to go”, Ziggo director Danny Damman refers to the stadium opposite his concert hall. His hall can accommodate approximately 15,000 people for the Styles concert, and approximately 70,000 fans are admitted to sold-out concerts in the Johan Cruijff Arena.

“Today we had to scale up our inquiry-handling department,” said the director. “The majority of the questions were, ‘Are there still tickets available?’ But it’s really sold out.” There was room in the Ziggo Dome to also schedule a concert by the singer tomorrow. Damman: “We could have had four sold-out concerts by him in the Ziggo Dome. But that is impossible in the full tour schedule that Styles has.”

‘Looking madly’

People are also still looking for tickets on Twitter. So writes a mother: “My teenager is desperately looking for tix for Harry Styles (Ziggo tonight). Just like a million others, I’m afraid. No chance?” and foreign fans who are in the Netherlands are still hoping for a ticket. So writes one from Los Angeles, who has devoted almost her entire Twitter account to the singer, saying that she is “desperate and that only scammers seem to be selling tickets”. She is now at the Ziggo Dome in the hope of getting a ticket.

The vast majority of the fans are women, says director Damman, who watched from a distance the line that had been growing longer and longer since noon. “It is a concert with mainly fixed seats, so they don’t really have to be here that early. But they want to extend their experience.”

“They had to wait more than two years for this, because the concert was postponed due to corona. And they also make new friends in line or join other groups as a group.” He speaks of a “King’s Day-like atmosphere combined with Amsterdam Fashion Week”. “I have rarely seen people dressed so nicely to the Ziggo Dome.”

This can partly be explained by the singer’s own clothing style. He often wears exuberant and colorful designer clothes.
