‘Harry Potter’ director Chris Columbus agrees to reunion with the original cast | Movie

FilmA film adaptation of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ with the original cast? Chris Columbus, the 63-year-old director of the first two films, is optimistic. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the man made it clear that he would like a return to the silver screen.

The interview took place on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’. On November 14, the print has been around for two decades. Chris Columbus, who himself directed the first two films, sees a sequel. If the opportunity ever arises, he would love to make ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ into a movie.

Correct age

The film director himself saw the play on Broadway a while ago. According to him, a film adaptation of the play starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint is a good idea. “Once they’re the right age, it would be really great,” Columbus admits honestly. “To see them back in their roles as adult actors… It would be great fun to make one or two movies out of that.”

Chris Columbus himself directed the first two films of the popular saga. Afterwards he gave up because it was too tired both emotionally and physically. “My children were still young and I could barely watch them grow up. I just knew I couldn’t do this for another six, seven, or eight years. My kids were growing up and I didn’t have a chance to experience this.” The 63-year-old director did not say goodbye to the magical world of Harry Potter. He still worked as a producer on ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’. In his own words, that fitted a lot better with the rhythm of his personal life.
