Central defender and captain Manchester United Harry Maguire refused to be lent to Inter Milan. Maguire will consider his future at the end of the season.
Inter are reportedly keen to take the England international on loan as they are on the verge of losing Milan Skriniar, who will join Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer seems possible because Maguire is in a difficult situation at MU.
The 29-year-old footballer has lost his place at the start of this season. Due to Maguire’s erratic appearance, manager Erik ten Hag chose to pair Raphael Varane with new player Lisandro Martinez at the heart of MU’s defense.
Maguire has only made 16 matches for Man United in all competitions this season. Maguire has only been deployed eight times in the Premier League, with only four starts.
Nevertheless, Harry Maguire reportedly turned down a move to Inter Milan. Daily Star claims the former Leicester City star will only consider his future in the summer if Erik ten Hag does not want to rely on him anymore.
Maguire himself is still under contract until 2025 with the option of another year’s extension. However, Maguire’s career at Manchester United believed to be over. Following Ten Hag’s decision to put more faith in Luke Shaw (left back) in the center back position instead of playing Maguire in several matches.
Not long ago, Harry Maguire opened up about his future. Maguire indicated he still wants to fight for his place at MU.
“I’m 29 years old and I’ve never really been in a position like this in my career before. I don’t want to get used to it, but it’s part of football. I push, I train well and when the opportunity comes I have to take it,” he said Maguire.
