Harry Maguire gain full confidence to be the current captain Manchester United beat Leeds United. The England national team defender also played the full game.
Man United’s visit to Leeds United headquarters took place at Elland Road in the Premier League continued, Sunday (12/2/2023) evening WIB. The two teams played out a goalless draw in the first half.
MU was able to win 2-0 after scoring a goal through Marcus Rashford Alejandro Garnacho. These goals came in the final 10 minutes of the match.
Manager Erik ten Hag decided to play Maguire from the first minute and as captain. The 29-year-old defender paid his trust by appearing sip.
This will be Maguire’s ninth full appearance this season. He made it clear that the interests of the team came first and seemed to indicate that it was okay to play less.
“Winning games is the most important thing, I’m captain of the team and I put the team way above myself,” Maguire told Sky Sports.
“Whether I play or not I want the team to win and be successful so it’s been a good season until now. Still a lot of improvement and big games but it’s nice to come here, to get a clean sheet and win, it’s good for the fans.”
Man United currently sits in third place with 48 points from 23 matches. The Red Devils are two points behind Manchester City as the occupants of second place.
