Harry Maguire confirms that it is a true supporter England National Team don’t insult players. The Manchester United defender expressed his support for Jordan Henderson.
Henderson received boos from England fans against Italy. In the match at Wembley, Wednesday (18/10/2023) early morning WIB, Tiga Singa won 3-1 over Gli Azzurri.
In that match, Henderson was a substitute. The Saudi Arabian club player, Al Ettifaq, replaced Kalvin Phillips in the 70th minute.
The ridicule for Henderson also occurred since the previous match when England played Australia. He got that even from the moment his name was announced on the line-up list for the match at Wembley.
Move Henderson to Al Ettifaq was the trigger for the ridicule. He is known as one of the players who supports LGBTQ+ campaigns, but instead makes a living in a country that is contrary to what he supports.
Maguire felt the same treatment as Henderson. He also provided support for the former Liverpool player.
“Real England fans don’t boo their players. They don’t boo players who play for their country and dedicate their lives to playing and do everything to make their country have good memories and special moments for them, the fans and their families,” said Maguire on 90min .
“I know there are a lot of top England fans and they are England fans who have been with me since my debut. They are right behind me and they are right behind Jordan too.”
“You get a lot of encouragement, yes just a little booing. But, they are not England supporters,” said Maguire add.
