Harry Kane just introduced as a new player Bayern Munich. Kane has indicated he wants to return to England to break Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record.
The top English striker joined Bayern after signing for £100 million in the middle of this week. Kane finally left Tottenham Hotspura club he has defended since junior level, or for nearly 20 years.
With this move, Kane will not be able to improve his record in the Premier League. At least for a while. Kane is currently ranked second in the list of top scorers with 213 goals, 47 goals adrift of Shearer.
Harry Kane was still 33 years old when his contract with Bayern Munich expired in June 2027. Kane is confident that he can play longer so it is still possible to break the Premier League goal record. However, Kane’s focus right now is just winning trophies together The Reds.
“It’s always a difficult decision; I’ve been at Tottenham for 19 years of my life, so everyone knows the club is connected to me, and my heart,” Kane was quoted as saying. Eurosport.
“But at the end of the day I’m a professional athlete and I’m always pushing myself to my limits and I feel like the time is right. People will talk about records and Shearer, but I still have plenty of time for the rest of my career anyway.”
“For now it’s about trying to achieve things here and trying to push myself and the team to try and reach new levels with this club. That’s my only focus for now.” Harry Kane.
Kane has already made his debut with Bayern Munich, just after his move from Tottenham was made official. Kane came on as a substitute when Bayern were beaten by RB Leipzig 0-3 in the German Super Cup, Saturday (12/8/2023).
